“We are not just our behavior. We are the person managing our behavior
This is a business fiction book, where characters in a corporation introduce business concepts and methods. The book is presenting a method of people’s management based around 3 principles: 1) be clear on the job description, by asking the employee to write a 1-page description of their job; 2) catch the employee doing something well and praise for that, including telling why the action is important; 3) catch the employee doing something wrong and give immediate feedback, to correct the behaviour.
Written as a scenario where a young person tries to see why an organisation is successful, the youngster arrives to talk with the manager who built this success. Talking with him and some employees, he discovers these three principles of management.
The book has also catch phrases and slogans, which makes it a typical business improvement book.

I think the book has also some hidden messages, which are not really explored in the short book. The book is called one-minute X, meaning that the praise and feedback are short, and the employee is let to do her/his job.
The employee is asked to write himself/herself what is the job, meaning that it is a way to check that the employee really understood what they have to do.
Overall, a light read, with some gems of wisdom.
